Playing with Poetics
Stream Lyric experiments with form and lyricism to produce performances that address contemporary society.
Drawing on the poetic tradition of theatre, we aim to develop high quality collaborations between writers and artists of other disciplines, for live and recorded platforms.
I am an emerging Writer/Director working with the tradition of poetry applied in drama. I am interested in exploring how poetics can be physically and visually supported in bringing contemporary social themes to life.
Most recently, I completed the MA in Creative Writing programme at UEA and previously trained in Acting at Mountview and Oxford School of Drama. I also spent brief time at Central School of Ballet London before developing abrupt scoliosis of the spine.
Other experience includes Script-reading for Target Film UK, The Film Consultancy and Menagerie Theatre and coordinating arts educational projects such as ‘Picture the Poet’ for the National Centre for Writing. I have enjoyed development from Escalator Live Art, Arvon 42 and Menagerie’s Young Writer’s Workshop.
In directing Stream-Lyric I aim to push the form of auditory theatre in the UK and provide high quality community education for marginalised young people and adults in the East of England.
